Rocket Gold Star
1962 - 1963

BSA's ultimate twin. A Rocket Gold could cost you over £8000. Never buy one without first checking it is genuine.

This is the ultimate BSA for many enthusiasts and was originally inspired by Banbury, Oxfordshire, dealer Eddie Dow, who built 20 - 30 A10 Gold Star based specials before the BSA factory launched their own version, designated the A10RS.

Nominally a late Super Rocket engine with Gold Star cycle parts, the Rocket Gold Star is in reality a complex mix of BSA components. For example the frame is subtly different from either a parallel twin or a single cylinder Gold Star chassis.

It does not have the bend in the bottom right hand tube to clear the single's oil pump housing. But it does have smaller diameter drillings in the swinging arm gusset to take a Gold Star rear fork and spindle.

Never buy a RGS without consulting experts. Any seller who has a genuine example - there are many copies - will be able to produce a letter of authenticity from the Gold Star Owners Club.
